6-Year Paint Warranty Terms | Pinelaki Cyprus

These are the full terms of the written 6-year paint warranty that Pinelaki issues with every paint and body repair. They set out exactly what is covered, what is not, how to make a claim and what we ask of you in return. Your warranty certificate summarises them; if there is any doubt, these terms apply. Version 1.0, in force from 11 September 2026.
Who gives this warranty and what does it apply to?
1.1 This warranty is given by GK PSITHYRON LTD, trading as Pinelaki, a company registered in the Republic of Cyprus (registration number HE 495711), registered office Armenias 48, Office 202, 2nd Floor, Strovolos 2003, Nicosia, Cyprus ("Pinelaki", "we", "us"). Our workshop is at Mesokeleos 15, Pallouriotissa 1042, Nicosia.
1.2 It applies to the paint refinishing and associated body repair work carried out by Pinelaki at our workshop, as listed on your invoice and on your warranty certificate ("the Work"). Cover is limited to the panels and areas we actually refinished or repaired.
1.3 It does not apply to panels or areas we did not work on, to original factory paint, to earlier repairs carried out by others, or to parts we did not supply and fit.
1.4 This warranty is a voluntary commercial guarantee. It is given in addition to, and does not replace or limit, your legal rights as a consumer (see section 9).
How long does the warranty last?
2.1 The warranty lasts six (6) years -- 72 months -- from the collection date shown on your invoice and warranty certificate.
2.2 Work we carry out under this warranty is covered for the remainder of the original six-year period. A warranty repair does not start a new period.
2.3 The warranty takes effect once the invoice for the Work has been paid in full, whether by you or by your insurer.
What does the 6-year warranty cover?
3.1 We warrant that the Work is free from defects in materials and workmanship. If any of the following appears on the Work during the warranty period, and is not caused by one of the excluded causes in section 4, we will put it right free of charge under section 5:
- peeling, flaking or lifting of primer, basecoat or clear coat from the panel;
- blistering, bubbling or delamination between paint layers (adhesion failure);
- cracking, crazing or checking of the paint film;
- premature loss of gloss, clouding, chalking or fading of the refinished area that is clearly greater than the weathering of the vehicle's adjacent original paint;
- premature breakdown of the clear coat;
- body-repair defects showing through the paint, such as shrinkage, sinking, cracking or mapping of filler on a repair we carried out;
- corrosion breaking through a repaired area where we treated the metal or fitted the panel, unless the corrosion originates from the inside of the panel, from seams, joints or cavities we did not treat, or from damage that occurred after the Work.
3.2 Finish defects that are visible at collection -- dust inclusions, runs, sags, orange peel heavier than the vehicle's factory texture, or polishing marks -- are also covered. Please report them within 30 days of collection so that we can correct them while the paint is fresh. After 30 days such marks cannot be distinguished from later damage and are no longer covered.
3.3 Colour match. We match colour with a spectrophotometer and blend into adjacent panels where needed, so that the repair is not noticeable under normal viewing conditions in natural daylight. A colour mismatch present at collection, or reported within 30 days of collection, is covered.
3.4 Factory paint keeps weathering and fading for the life of the vehicle, while a fresh refinish starts from new. Small differences that develop over the years between the refinished panel and the surrounding original paint for this reason are normal and are not a defect. Fading of the refinished area itself that is clearly faster than the original paint is covered under 3.1.
What does the warranty NOT cover?
4.1 Damage after collection. Any damage that happens after the vehicle leaves our workshop: collisions, impacts, stone chips, road debris, scratches, scuffs, key marks, parking dings, hail, fire, flood, vandalism, theft or animal damage.
4.2 Environmental and chemical attack. Damage from bird droppings, tree sap, insect remains, tar, fuel, brake fluid, cement, industrial fallout, overspray from elsewhere, sea spray, road salt, Sahara dust or hard-water spotting that was not removed within a reasonable time, and any damage from acids, solvents or aggressive cleaning products.
4.3 Washing and care. Damage caused by automatic car washes with brushes, abrasive compounding or polishing, pressure washers used at close range or aimed at panel edges, or the application or removal of stickers, vinyl wraps, paint protection film, ceramic coatings or adhesives. Damage caused by any product applied to the refinished area within the first 30 days after collection (wax, polish, sealant, coating, film or wrap) is not covered.
4.4 Work by others. Damage caused by any repair, painting, polishing, coating or modification carried out on or affecting the refinished area by anyone other than Pinelaki. If the refinished area is repainted or repaired by someone else, the warranty for that area ends.
4.5 Pre-existing conditions. Corrosion or damage outside the repaired area; corrosion originating from the inside of a panel or from seams, joints or cavities we did not treat; earlier repairs by others beneath our Work where we recommended replacement or stripping and you chose not to proceed; and paint applied at your request over parts you supplied or over previous repairs.
4.6 Repairs limited at your request. Where you asked for a spot repair, a partial repair or a lower-cost method against our recommendation, and we noted this on the invoice, the limits of colour match and durability we explained at the time are not defects.
4.7 Normal wear. The gradual, even loss of gloss that every paint finish shows with age and use, and the normal weathering differences described in 3.4.
4.8 Parts and non-paint items. Replacement parts carry their manufacturer's or supplier's warranty, not this one. Mechanical and electrical components, glass, lights, sensors and camera or radar calibration, trim, mouldings, rubber seals and clips are not covered by this paint warranty.
4.9 Use. Vehicles used in motorsport, off-road competition or deliberately abusive conditions.
4.10 Consequential loss. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable under this warranty for loss of use, hire or replacement vehicle costs, towing, travel, loss of income, reduction in the vehicle's value, or any other indirect loss.
What happens when a claim is accepted?
5.1 We repair the defect at our workshop: we re-prepare and refinish the affected area to the same standard as the original Work, at no charge for labour or materials. We decide the repair method.
5.2 If we conclude that a repair is not reasonably possible, we may instead refund the part of the original invoice price that relates to the affected panel. Our total liability under this warranty for any panel is limited to the price you paid for the Work on that panel.
5.3 We do not pay cash in place of a repair, and we do not reimburse repairs carried out by other workshops, unless we agreed to this in writing before the work was done.
5.4 Warranty repairs are booked in within a reasonable time, taking into account the workshop schedule and the nature of the defect.
How do I make a warranty claim?
6.1 Contact us as soon as you notice a problem, and in any case within 30 days of first noticing it: call or message +357 99228438 (phone, WhatsApp or Viber) or email info@pinelaki.com. Photos help.
6.2 Bring the vehicle to our workshop at Mesokeleos 15, Pallouriotissa 1042, Nicosia, for inspection. No appointment is needed for a warranty inspection during workshop hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00). Please bring the car reasonably clean so that the paint can be assessed.
6.3 Your certificate or invoice speeds things up but is not required: we keep digital records of every job since 1991 and can look up your vehicle by name or registration number.
6.4 We inspect the area, may take photographs and paint-thickness readings, and tell you whether the claim is covered. If it is, we agree a date for the repair.
6.5 Please do not polish, touch up or have anyone else repair the area before we have inspected it. We cannot accept a claim for an area that has already been altered or repaired elsewhere.
Is the warranty transferable if I sell the car?
7.1 Yes. The warranty stays with the vehicle. If you sell it within the six-year period, the new owner is covered for the remaining time -- no transfer fee and no paperwork. The new owner simply contacts us with the registration number.
7.2 The new owner is covered on the same terms and conditions, including the exclusions in section 4 for anything that happened before they bought the vehicle.
What do I need to do to keep the warranty valid?
8.1 Pay the invoice in full.
8.2 Let the paint cure: for the first 30 days after collection, wash by hand or in a touchless wash only, and do not wax, polish, seal, coat, wrap or apply film to the refinished area.
8.3 Look after the finish reasonably: wash regularly with a pH-neutral car shampoo, avoid brush car washes, and remove bird droppings, tree sap, insect remains and fuel spills as soon as you notice them -- in the Cyprus sun they can etch a clear coat within days.
8.4 Report any defect within 30 days of first noticing it and give us the first opportunity to inspect and put it right.
8.5 If a defect is caused or made worse by not following 8.2 to 8.4, that defect is not covered. The rest of your warranty is unaffected.
What are my legal rights?
9.1 This warranty is a voluntary commercial guarantee. You also have rights under the consumer protection laws of the Republic of Cyprus and the European Union, including remedies if a service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill or goods are not in conformity with the contract. Those rights are not affected by this warranty, and nothing in these terms limits them.
9.2 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9.3 These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction. You may also refer a complaint to the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service.
9.4 The version of these terms in force on your collection date, as issued with your warranty certificate, applies to your Work. We may update the terms for future jobs.
9.5 If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest continues to apply.
9.6 These terms are published in English, Greek and Russian. If the versions differ, the English version prevails.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are stone chips covered by the warranty?
No. Stone chips are impact damage that happens on the road after collection, not a defect in the Work. If chips appear, bring the car in and we will quote for a repair -- and the rest of your warranty continues.
My repainted panel looks slightly different from the rest of the car after a few years. Is that a defect?
Usually not. Original factory paint keeps fading in the Cyprus sun while a refinished panel starts from new, so a small difference can develop over time (clause 3.4). If the refinished area itself is fading, chalking or losing gloss faster than the original paint, that is covered (clause 3.1) -- bring the car in and we will assess it.
I had the car polished or ceramic-coated elsewhere. Does that void the warranty?
Not the whole warranty. Damage caused by that work -- polishing marks, burnt edges, a coating that fails -- is not covered (clauses 4.3 and 4.4). Paint defects unrelated to it are still covered.
What if the same panel is damaged in another accident?
The new damage is not covered (clause 4.1) and is repaired as a new job, which gets its own six-year warranty. Areas of the original Work that were not affected stay covered.
Do I need to keep the certificate or invoice?
It helps but it is not required. We keep digital records of every job since 1991 and can find your vehicle by name or registration number (clause 6.3).
